Time and Work Problems- questions with Pdf

Time and work is the topic of Arithmetic Math in which how many people can do a work in how many times, we solve the questions related to it. Although this topic is not difficult, the language of the questions should be understood only then you will be able to answer them. Time and work problems are seen in SSC, Bank, and other exams.

There are 4 to 5 problems are formed in this topic, and in remaining questions, there is a mixture of these methods, let’s know about their methods-

1. individual Theory

In This problem one, two, or three individual persons with their days are given and everyone has to work together to extract the entire work, which is taken out with the help of LCM, Percentage, or Fraction then solve the whole work by dividing their work efficiency.

Here, it is most important that a person’s work is done in a day, how much work he does in a day, that is his ability. Example-

A- 10 days, B- 15 days, now LCM of (10, 15)= 30 (total work ) A works 10 days means his efficiency is 3 and B works for 15 days means B efficiency is 2. Total work is done in how many days – 30/A+B= 30/2+3= 6 days.

2. Leave and Come– In the questions of this topic, a task starts but a person leaves the work in the middle or a new person is arrives, due to which the delay in the completion of the work or how soon the work will be completed. These people can be one, two, or even more.

3. Group Theory

This is a group of many persons, where people do one thing together. In these questions, the number of persons is decreased or increased, which includes work, number of people, days, hours, weeks, etc.
The formula has also been created to solve such questions easily- M1 x D1 x H1 x xE1/W1= M2 x D2 x H2 x E2/W2

4. Work and Wages– Wages are given on the basis of the personality of the person on working in these questions, how much money should be given per person on completion of the work.
To share the salary, the work capacity of all the individuals is added, after dividing the work capacity with the entire money, the person who has to give it gets multiplied by the efficiency of the person alone.

5. Alternate days

In these questions, the work is done on different days, like a person should do work separately. On the first day one person and on the second day the second person, then in how many days the work will be completed. The person can be 2 or more.

    A and B can complete a work in 12 days, C and A can do it in 8 days. All three can do it in 6 days. In how many days can B and C together complete it?

  1. कुछ पुरुष किसी कार्य को 55 दिनों में पूरा कर सकते हैI यदि 6 पुरुष और आ जाए, तो इस कार्य को पूरा करने में 11 दिन कम लगेंगे. शुरुआत में कितने पुरुष थे?
    Some men can complete a work in 55 days. If 6 more men come, it will take 11 days less to complete this work. How many men were there in the beginning?

    18 men or 36 boys can make a wall in 24 days by working 6 hours a day. In how many days will 24 men and 24 boys work together for 9 hours a day?

  1. एक किसान के द्वारा एक खेत को 24 घंटे में जोता जाता हैI 6 घंटे बाद वह आराम लेता है, खेत का कितना हिस्सा अभी भी जोता जाना बाकी है?
    A farm is plowed in 24 hours by a farmer. After 6 hours he takes rest, how much part of the field is still to be plowed?

P and Q together can complete a work in 3 days. They started working together but after 2 days Q left the work. A,B,C किसी काम को अलग अलग क्रमश: 16, 32 और 48 दिनों में कर सकते है. वे एक साथ कार्य आरम्भ करते है किन्तु B कार्य समाप्त होने से 8 दिन पहले और C 6 दिन पहले कार्य छोड़ देता हैI कार्य कितने दिनों में पूरा हुआ?
